Fall Cupcakes

Allie asked me at just the right moment last week if I wanted to go down to DC for the weekend. (I had just received an e-mail from my professor saying that clinic assignments had been postponed to the following week!) I didn't think I was going to make it down to DC this fall, so I was thrilled that it all worked out! After waking up really early to catch my train, I arrived in DC and met Allie for lunch in Georgetown. Naturally, we stopped in Georgetown Cupcake for some fall pumpkin cupcakes. A great way to start our perfect fall weekend!

I've been feeling a bit gloomy lately. I can't exactly figure out why.

Either way, over the past week things have definitely been looking up!

10 things that made me happy:

1- FINALLY having cooler fall weather! I love pulling out my jackets and sweaters!

2- A visit from ALL of the Hill girls!

3- President Uchtdorf's talk at the Relief Society conference.

4- General conference all weekend!

5- I made these awesome glittery pumpkins tonight! I've been anticipating this craft for months, and they turned out exactly as I had hoped!
This photo doesn't show how great they are!
They are two different colors of glitter. Let the fall partying begin!

6- The realization today that in only 28 more days I can start listening to Christmas music!

7- The pumpkin candle that has been burning in my kitchen.

8- Only about a month until Brad and Lindsey get married! I can't wait.

9- Modern Family. (the only show I allow myself to follow during the school year)

10- Fall baking: cinnamon and orange rolls, autumnal cake, spice cookies, and fresh peach dessert!

Just the way you are

After running in the park, I walked -exhausted and red-faced-
back to my apartment.

When I reached the corner.
(You know, the corner where all my neighbors hang out)
A guy called:

"Girl, whatever you're doing you don't need to be doing.
Cause you're amazing,
just the way you are."

I'm sorry... Did you just steal Bruno Mars' line?

Def Leppard

Are you as surprised as everyone else that I went to a Def Leppard concert?

Katie and I didn't quite fit in, but it was still a great night! We had a ton of fun and went with people who did fit in. (Enter Devin and Judd with their rolled up/cut off jeans, t-shirts, bandannas, and of course Judd's stache.)

 Pour some sugar on me!
Rocket! Yeah!

Mo Jo

After almost five months, it was great to go home again! I had a break from school and got to spend a week in Utah. I can't believe how much I got to accomplish while I was there. It was busy, but so much fun! I wish I could have done a little more. There will always be next time...

Morgan Josie (also referred to as MoJo) is my youngest niece, and the only one that I can't talk to on the phone. For this reason, the time I get to spend with her in person is especially fun. Whenever I am home, I soak her up as much as I can! She's pretty much the cutest, sweetest thing.

See for yourself.

I wish you could hear the noise she makes while making this face!

I can't blame her for laughing and having such a great time when I'm around.

Sister Date

After Swiss Days, Chelsea and I went on a sister date. We first went to the Park City Outlets, followed by the Alpine Slide, Baja Cantina, and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Old family traditions and a perfect Friday night! The mountains were beautiful. I always forget how great they are. It was so refreshing!

Who was the better photographer? Just wondering....

 And we're off!
 Oh man, second place.
 The winner! (re-enacted)

The Swiss Family Robinsons

I spent the afternoon reflecting on my roots at Swiss Days! It was my first time ever going and Chelsea, Katie, Steffaney, and I had a lot of fun. We had good food, looked at the shops, purchased a few leather goods, and even saw President Uchtdorf.
