Last night I was video chatting with Brady, one of my best friends since elementary school.
He lives with a few of our mutual friends from high school, so it ended up that we were all chatting.
At one point the boys noticed I was a bit distracted, "What are you doing? What's distracting you? TELL US!"
I told them I had finally caved and gotten Pinterest and this was (more or less) the conversation that followed:
Boys: "What? What's that."
I tried to explain it to them and Joey decided to visit the website.
Joey: "I need an invite! Send me an invite. I want to pin."
Me: "Are you serious?"
So I sent him an invite...
Then the boys were looking at the website. Trying to analyze what it was.
Brady: "So you just pin the things you like? It's social pinning?"
After a minute Brady said, "Oh, I like that..."
Mckay: "PIN IT!"
Joey: "PIN IT!"
Joey: "I like it too!"
Mckay: "PIN IT! Joey, how will we ever know you like if it you don't pin it. We want to know you like it too."
Brady: "PIN IT!"
Mckay: "PIN IT!"
Hilarious.
They surprisingly understood it pretty well...but were completely mocking Pinterest!
After last night, this recommendation only goes out to girls: check out Pinterest! Dani was totally on the ball months ago with this, but I sort of brushed it off. 6 months later and I think it is awesome. Let me know if you need an invite... I only have 6 left after mistakenly giving one to Joey.
Also, I got amberrobinson. I never get plain old amberrobinson. I always have to add numbers or something. There's always another amberrobinson somewhere who steals that login. This time I snagged it!

NSO
And... after that blog vomit, we're all caught up. I've been busy moving and finally had some downtime, hence the enormous catch up.
This post is for Amy.
I went to my NSO on Monday.
They gave me free food, a free pen, and a free wallet (which was definitely not as cool as it sounds).
They pretty much told me everything I already knew... an indicator of my OCD.
I registered for classes, tried to figure out the buildings, and got my picture ID. (And I got a museum sticker on my ID that gets me into most of the NYC museums for free!)
I met with professors and advisors, and was really happy and surprised by how kind and helpful everyone was.
Here I go again... Class starts Thursday! Wish me luck.

My DC Family
Rebekah, Kelsey, Amber, Emilie, Jamie
Roommates! Allie, Amber, Kim, Lindsay
I am always reminded of how lucky I am to meet and associate with new amazing people all the time. My 21 months in DC were no exception!
Part of what made DC so great were all of these amazing girls, who pretty much became my family! We were especially close, and went through (surprisingly) quite a bit together. Our friendship ran deep. I know I won't get to see them all the time. But, I also know that they are the type of friends that as soon as we see each other, we will pick up right where we left off.
Thank goodness, because I already miss them!

6 years
I don't know where to start...
But I have been extremely blessed for the past 6 years!
Yes... 6 years!! We've been roommates for 6 years!
One of our first photos together - BYU Football Game - Freshman Year 2005
(Not the best picture, but it was this or an awful Halloween one)
6 years, multiple vacations and new experiences, 1 study abroad, and 6 apartments later and we finally had to part ways.
Best friend. Best roommate.
I love you Kim!
J Dawgs Party!
Before I moved away from DC I threw a J Dawgs Party!
It was a success and I was happy I got to spend some quality time with everyone before I left.
Amy and Billy even brought their own plates. Go green! (Even though I hassled them practically the whole time, I am really impressed by their efforts!)

Jessica
Jessica moved back to Virginia in perfect timing to hang out for a few days before I moved away. Back when we had to say goodbye after I graduated I left her with a pair of my Christmas Pajamas. She's had them ever since, and even brought them back with her to VA!
We were both excited when she arrived at the J Dawgs party. Jason documented the whole thing.
You can see why we're friends... Same exact face! Dramatic?
I love you Jess! Welcome back to VA. Please come visit NYC soon!

White House Garden Tour
Message from my old coworker, Lizzy: Hey! How are you?!? I have been meaning to get in touch with you for quite some time now. I know this is last minute but I have tickets for the white house garden tour tomorrow, so if you are free and interested it would be great for you to meet up with me! The tour time is 10:15. Let me know if you want to go. Hope all is going well for you and that we can catch up soon.
My obvious answer: YES! (Do you know how hard it is to get tickets to ANY event at the White House?)

HABITS
I try to develop good habits. Some habits form easily, while others I have to revisit over and over again.
I don't typically make a big deal out of new year resolutions but this year I made one. I wanted to focus on a good habit that I HAD to develop: Flossing.
I've tried to be a good flosser. I've had good flossing months. But it was time to develop a solid habit.
I am proud to say that I have flossed my teeth EVERY single night of 2011.
After a week, it was a habit. I couldn't believe how quickly it "clicked." I tried coming up with excuses the first week, and it seemed like such an inconvenient hassle to floss every single night. But after that first week, I will never go back. I love flossing! It's gross to think I averaged flossing once or twice a week before.
Here's to good habits and to keeping new year resolutions!
(I started this post back in February when I was feeling really good about not missing a single night. I never got around to finishing it, and am proud to say that I've still not missed a night, and it's May!)

A Perfect Night
Gymnastics, Popcorn, Playing, Macaroni and Cheese, Ice Cream, Nail Polish, Stories, and lots and lots of hugs!
I was so happy that I got to babysit my old student Norah and her little brother Nathaniel.
In my opinion, a perfect way to spend a night!
